What Makes a Pregnancy "High-Risk"?
A pregnancy may be classified as high-risk for several reasons — maternal age, pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders or high blood pressure, a multiple pregnancy (twins or more), a history of miscarriage or preterm birth, or concerns identified during scans such as placental position. None of these mean a difficult pregnancy is inevitable — they simply mean closer, more specialised monitoring is needed.
Our Approach
Every high-risk pregnancy at Rays is monitored on an individualised schedule — more frequent scans, targeted blood work, and closer tracking of growth and wellbeing markers. Dr. Indumathi also practices at Apollo Hospitals, Vanagaram, so if a higher level of care is ever needed — NICU support, specialist consultation, or advanced monitoring — that escalation pathway is already in place.
